i teach high school science, biology and environmental education. i have come across many students of the higher standards with this miscoception about evaporation. they think when water evaporates from water bodies, it takes salts, polluants and other impurities along with the vapour! this is inspite of their having studied the process of distillation as a method of obtaining pure water.
